Men, women, children and families from all over Parkersburg and the surrounding areas were greatly blessed this Christmas season. Volunteers , at the mission, shopped with parents for their children's Christmas gifts.
Many children , birth to late teens, were provided with new gifts.
Gifts included toys, special teen sets, new clothes, shoes, coats hats/gloves, handmade scarves and blankets, comforter sets and stockings.
The selection of items was tremendous. The mission building was filled "to the top" before the give-away and only a hand full of items remained at the end of the day.
The folks served by the food programs enjoyed a wonderful holiday meal with all the trimmings.They were also provided with handmade "goodie bags", scarves, hats, gloves, blankets,and sweatshirts. Not only did the families, who were in need, enjoy all that Old Man Rivers had to offer, but the volunteers who gave their time, their talents and their donations came away with that "warm fuzzy holiday feeling".
